Lot 133:
Description
A group of three gold-toned ceramic or porcelain vessels, comprising two creamers and one small pitcher, all executed in the distinctive etched gold floral and foliate style associated with Pickard. Each piece features an all-over metallic finish with raised relief decoration. The group includes a rounded-bodied creamer, a square-profiled creamer, and a footed vessel with faceted sides.
The rounded-bodied creamer is marked on its base with "C 485", "R. H. MACY & CO.", and "JAPAN", indicating it was manufactured in Japan and retailed by R. H. Macy & Co. The square-bodied creamer bears a circular "W" logo, "DECORATED IN U.S.A.", "22 K. GOLD", and a handwritten "1775", consistent with items decorated in the United States using 22 karat gold, a practice common to Pickard and contemporary decorators. The footed vessel has no visible base markings.
The two smaller vessels measure approximately 2.75 inches in height.
The footed vessel measures approximately 3.75 inches in height.
