Description
A vintage Bowl-O-Beauty ‘Real Roses’ glass dome jar terrarium, produced by Bow Lo Beauty Co. of Melrose Park, IL. The piece features a clear, spherical molded glass jar designed to sit within an ornate, patinated cast metal stand. The stand is decorated with molded floral or sunburst motifs and rests on four scrolled feet, consistent with a Mid-20th Century aesthetic. The black screw-top lid of the jar is extensively marked with "BOW LO BEAUTY CO. MELROSE PARK, IL. 60160," "PATENTED, " "REAL ROSES, " and "NO. 3, 816, 224," along with "OTHER PATENTS PENDING." A separate sticker on the lid displays the number "7850."
When assembled, the piece measures approximately 8.5 inches tall.
