Description
A vintage ceramic figural planter manufactured by Shawnee Pottery, identified by the mold number 710, commonly known as the Dutch Boy and Girl Wishing Well Planter. The piece depicts a boy and girl, dressed in novelty or storybook style blue, white, and yellow glazed outfits, standing on either side of a central wishing well structure finished in bright green glaze. The well serves as the planter opening. The front base of the piece features the raised lettering WISHING WELL. The underside is impressed with the manufacturer mark Shawnee U.S.A. and the mold number 710. This style of art pottery is typically dated to the mid-20th century.
Approximately 7.5 inches long and 5.25 inches high.
