Lot 191:
Description
This is a single utilitarian stoneware jug, commonly referred to as a whiskey or liquor jug, likely dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. The vessel features a cylindrical body finished with a mottled tan and grayish-brown salt glaze. The conical shoulder, neck, and applied loop handle are covered in a dark, glossy brown glaze, consistent with an Albany slip application. The mouth is currently fitted with a rough cork stopper. A white adhesive sticker bearing the hand-written number 93 is affixed to the neck.
