Description
A pair of antique oval cruet carriers manufactured by Reed & Barton. Each carrier is constructed of silverplate over base metal, marked "SILVER SOLDERED, " indicating a heavy plating technique often associated with late 19th or early 20th century production. The oval form features a fluted or gadrooned body design and a beaded rope edge running along the rim. A central fixed carrying handle rises from the center of the carrier base. The interior of each carrier is fitted with six integrated circular rings designed to hold bottles or condiments. The base interior is decorated with a repeating feathered or leaf motif. The underside of each carrier is stamped with the maker’s mark and identification number: REED & BARTON / SILVER SOLDERED / 2910.
