Description
A single Mid-Century Modern stoneware ewer or vase. The object features a tall, narrow, tapering body, characteristic of mid-20th-century design. The shoulder is decorated with pronounced concentric ribbing. The vessel is fitted with two substantial, high loop handles that extend above the wide, angular rim, giving the piece a sculptural silhouette. The ceramic is finished with a high-gloss glaze that transitions in color: the lower body exhibits a speckled reddish-brown/orange texture, suggestive of a ‘fat lava’ style finish, which mottles into a darker amber and brown near the neck and rim. The unglazed base is light tan and bears the incised model number "4688P."
