Description
A collection of vintage ammunition reloading equipment and workshop accessories. The primary component is a MEC 600 Jr. shotshell reloading press manufactured by Mayville Engineering Co., Inc. The press is constructed of steel with a red-painted base and unfinished steel mechanical parts. A manufacturer label on the base identifies the model as 600 Jr. with serial number 182063 and lists Mayville, Wisconsin as the location of origin. The lot includes a translucent plastic MEC reservoir bottle with red lettering for shot and powder measurements. Also present is an RCBS Case Lube Pad contained within a green plastic case, accompanied by an original paper instructional insert from RCBS, Inc. of Oroville, California. The collection includes a red textured cardboard box labeled Unique containing an assortment of metal and plastic bushings. Additionally, there is a Carter’s Extra Service Size 2 felt stamp pad in a hinged metal tin, labeled as uninked.
Condition report:
The metallic elements of the reloading press show significant surface oxidation and heavy rust throughout the frame and mechanical components. The red-painted base displays notable paint loss, scuffing, and surface wear. The plastic reservoir bottle shows surface grime and yellowing consistent with age. The cardboard bushing box exhibits edge wear, staining, and structural softening. The RCBS green plastic case shows light surface scuffing, and the instructional insert has minor foxing and discoloration. The Carter’s metal tin displays surface rust and pitting on both the exterior and interior surfaces, and the felt pad shows heavy staining.
