Description
This lot consists of two pieces of green uranium glass, also known as Depression glass, produced circa 1930-1939 and attributed to the Hocking Glass Company. Both items are constructed of pressed glass containing uranium, which exhibits a strong green fluorescence under ultraviolet light. The first item is an open sugar bowl in the style of the Cherry Blossom pattern, featuring molded clusters of blossoms and leaves with a scalloped, textured rim and two handles. The second item is a tea cup in the style of the Mayfair pattern, also known as Open Rose, featuring molded roses and bow-tied floral swags. Both pieces feature smooth, pressed bases without pontil marks and no visible manufacturer marks.
Sugar Bowl: Height 3 inches, Base Diameter 3 inches
Tea Cup: Height 2.5 inches, Base Diameter 2 inches.
