24 MARCH NATIONAL CHEESESTEAK DAY AUCTION
Lot 115:
Description
A large earthenware pitcher featuring a high relief foliate design, attributed to Bordallo Pinheiro or a similar Portuguese manufacturer. The vessel is finished in a monochromatic, vibrant green glossy glaze. The body transitions from a smooth, rounded base into a textured neck modeled with overlapping leaf textures and numerous small circular perforations. The rim is scalloped to mimic the edge of a leaf, and the piece is fitted with a rustic twig-form handle. The underside of the base shows faint, illegible impressed markings beneath the glaze and an unglazed foot ring.
Height: 11.75 inches.
