Description
A hand-painted bisque porcelain figurine produced for the Gift World of Gorham, titled Fall – The Coal Season’s Coming. This First Edition piece is part of the Four Seasons collection, inspired by Norman Rockwell’s 1960 illustrations. The figurine depicts an older man in a red shirt and a young boy in a green shirt working together to assemble a black potbelly stove. Both figures wear white aprons with painted soot details. The boy is positioned on a green stool, and a black and white cat is seated on the base. Several loose stovepipe components are modeled on the floor of the scene. The base is rectangular with rounded corners and a matte off-white finish. The name Norman Rockwell is incised on the top surface of the base. The underside bears gold-tone lettering identifying the series, edition, and title, along with a Gorham foil sticker indicating manufacture in Japan.
