Lot 110:
Description
This pair of antique industrial block and tackle pulleys is consistent with late 19th to early 20th-century North American maritime or agricultural hardware. The design and construction resemble the work of Madesco Products. The lot includes one single-sheave block and one double-sheave block. The single-sheave unit features an oval wooden shell with an internal iron strap and a large forged iron hook. The double-sheave unit is constructed with a square-shouldered wooden shell housing two internal iron sheaves and is equipped with a heavy-duty iron shackle and swivel assembly. Both blocks are held together with iron pins and rivets. No manufacturer stamps, model numbers, or patent marks are visible on the wood or metal surfaces. One wooden shell retains a piece of blue adhesive tape with the handwritten characters 2 and 0 in purple ink.
