Description
This lot consists of three O-gauge model train cars manufactured by Louis Marx and Co. The first item is a Shell Oil tank car featuring yellow lithographed tinplate construction with a black-painted metal frame. Markings include Shell, S.C.C.X. 652, and specific references to the Shell Oil Co. in Martinez, California, with a built date of 10-23. The underside bears the circular Mar Toys logo with Louis Marx and Co. Inc. New York N.Y. text. The second item is a Baltimore and Ohio gondola car in grey lithographed tinplate, marked B and O 25 4000 and Baltimore and Ohio. This car also features the Mar Toys logo on the underside and a built date of 1-41. The third item is a New York Central Pacemaker boxcar with red and grey lithographed tinplate and two sliding side doors. It is marked NYC 174580 and New York Central System within an oval.
