Description
This vintage still bank is identified as the Uncle Mose model, representing a caricature common in early to mid-20th-century Black Americana. The figure is depicted in formal attire consisting of a red tailcoat, yellow trousers, and a white collar accented with a yellow bow tie. He is shown holding a black top hat with both hands in front of his torso. The bank is constructed of two cast iron pieces joined by a vertical seam. A single horizontal coin slot is located on the upper back of the figure. A hole for a securing screw is present on the lower back, though the hardware is absent. There are no visible manufacturer marks, stamps, or patent numbers on the exterior surfaces.
