Lot 147:
Description
This vintage industrial metal container is configured as a reservoir tank, likely intended for agricultural machinery or a stationary engine. Fabricated from sheet steel, the body features a cylindrical lower section, a tapered neck, and two fixed heavy-gauge wire D-shaped handles attached at the shoulder. The container is finished in original gray paint and is topped with a wide, rimmed lid. Specialized functional features include a vertical slide bracket mounted to one side of the lower body and a single circular aperture near the base rim. The underside reveals a recessed base with a small projecting metal tube or nipple, indicating its use as a gravity-fed liquid supply tank. Faint, illegible characters are incised into the upper neck area, and a hand-painted yellow mark resembling a stylized letter N or a checkmark is present on the side of the body.
Height: 14 inches.
