Description

This is a United States five-dollar Silver Certificate, Series 1953. The obverse features a central portrait of Abraham Lincoln within an oval frame. To the right of the portrait is a blue Treasury seal, and matching blue serial numbers (C 31744374 A) are located at the lower left and upper right. The note bears the printed signatures of Ivy Baker Priest as Treasurer of the United States and G.M. Humphrey as Secretary of the Treasury. The text at the top reads Silver Certificate, and the bottom margin states Five Dollars In Silver Payable To The Bearer On Demand. The reverse displays a large green vignette of the Lincoln Memorial. The note is printed in black and blue ink on the obverse and green ink on the reverse.
