Description

This collection of United States silver dimes consists of the Barber design, also known as the Liberty Head, featuring dates 1912, 1914, and 1916. Struck in a 90 percent silver alloy, the obverse of each coin displays a right-facing bust of Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap and laurel wreath with the legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and the date. The reverse features the denomination ONE DIME within a botanical wreath of corn, wheat, maple, and oak. Mint marks are located below the wreath on the reverse: specimens include the Denver Mint (D) from 1912 and the San Francisco Mint (S) from 1916, while specimens without a mint mark denote the Philadelphia Mint. These coins represent the final years of the Barber dime series, which was produced from 1892 until mid-1916.
