Lot 97:
Description
This vintage table lamp is an industrial folk art conversion of a four-way railroad signal or switch marker lantern, in the style of Adlake or Handlan designs. The cylindrical body is constructed of metal with a black-painted finish and features a tiered vented top. The housing is fitted with three large, ribbed Fresnel glass lenses in amber and blue-green. The lamp is designed with a dual-lighting system: two small internal bulbs illuminate the colored Fresnel lenses, while a central metal rod extends through the top to a standard light bulb socket. The top socket is brass-finished and includes a harp for mounting a lampshade. The assembly stands on a flared, cast metal base. The primary lamp socket is marked LEVITON, MADE IN USA, 250W, 250V, and the brown plastic power plug is marked EAGLE, MADE IN USA.
