Description
This commemorative tumbler is part of The Gulf Collector’s Series, produced as a Limited Edition late-20th-century collectible. The clear glass vessel features multi-color applied graphics celebrating the brand’s heritage. The front displays a stylized mid-century Gulf service station scene, depicting a light green car, a service attendant, and a female mechanic in blue overalls carrying a toolbox and wrench. The illustration includes the signature orange circular Gulf logo and the script text: The Dawning of a New Era. The reverse side features an orange header and a detailed block of blue text that provides a historical overview of the late 1930s. This text references the U.A.W. strikes, King Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson, zoot suits, the advent of streamlined automobiles, 15-cent gasoline prices, Flash Gordon, the Marx Brothers, and Orson Welles’ War of the Worlds radio broadcast. The tumbler has a cylindrical form with a thick, weighted base. No manufacturer marks are visible on the underside.
