Description
This two-piece pressed glass novelty lidded dish is designed in the form of a nesting hen. The lid features a molded hen with detailed feathering on the body and wings, complemented by an upright, fanned tail. The base is an oval dish characterized by a textured basket-weave pattern on the exterior and a decorative beaded rim, commonly known as a pearl edge. The glass is a translucent light blue. This design and the specific rim treatment are consistent with patterns produced by the Indiana Glass Company in the mid-20th century. No embossed maker’s marks are present on either piece.
