Description
A collection of vintage wall-mounting match holders composed of two glazed ceramic pocket-style holders and two sheet metal dispenser-style holders. The first ceramic match holder features a light-blue textured body embellished with relief-molded floral motifs and a basketweave patterned pocket, with the base bearing a stamped mark of a horse head inside a stylized letter S above Japan. The second ceramic match holder is cream-colored with a molded plaid pattern and painted floral details, marked on the underside Made in Japan. The first metal match holder is finished in black paint and fitted with a colorful paper label advertising Bare Foot Boy Tomatoes from the New Federal Canning Co. in Frankfort, Indiana, with the words Strike Here embossed on the side and a gold foil sticker on the reverse printed Made in India. The second metal match holder is finished in green paint with a lithographed scene of a doe and fawn by a stream, with the reverse embossed Tayco Hong Kong.
