Description
This is a vintage cast iron skillet produced by the Griswold Manufacturing Company of Erie, Pennsylvania. This example features the Griswold small block logo and a smooth exterior base without a heat ring, characteristic of production from approximately 1939 to 1957. The pan is constructed of sand-cast iron and features a factory-ground smooth interior cooking surface. It includes two pour spouts and a grooved handle. The underside of the skillet is marked with NO. 8 at the top, the circular Griswold cross logo in the center, ERIE PA below the logo, and the pattern number 704 followed by the letter T at the base. The top of the handle near the rim features a raised square mark containing the number 8. The underside of the handle is marked with the number 20.
