JULY BOOM
Lot 175:
Description
This two-piece clear pressed glass covered dish is a novelty tableware item consisting of a lid and a matching base. The lid is molded in the form of a nesting hen, featuring textured feather details throughout the body and flared tail, along with a defined comb and beak. The base is an oval-shaped bowl with a textured, ribbed exterior simulating a woven nest or basket, finished with a distinctive beaded rim. This specific variant of the Hen on Nest pattern is consistent with production by the Indiana Glass Company from the mid-20th century. There are no manufacturer’s marks or labels visible on the piece.
