Description
This is a commemorative round cast iron skillet produced for the 80th anniversary of the Southern Pine Electric Cooperative, headquartered in Mississippi. The skillet features a standard long handle with a hanging hole, a helper handle, and two pour spouts. The base of the skillet is cast with raised decorative elements and text. In the center is a large numeral 80 featuring a pine tree silhouette inside the zero. Below the numeral is a ribbon banner inscribed SINCE 1938. The lower portion contains the text Southern Pine ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE with a stylized pine tree logo to the left. The design and the accompanying Seasoned, Ready to Cook Cast Iron instruction tag are characteristic of promotional items manufactured by the Lodge Manufacturing Company. The instruction tag is marked with a reference code 0516_Seasoned_Instructions.
