Description
This is a miniature white milk glass covered dish produced by Hazel-Atlas in the form of a hen on a nest. The two-piece set features a lid molded into the shape of a sitting chicken with detailed feather textures on the wings and body. The oval base has a molded cross-hatch basketweave pattern on the exterior. The glass exhibits characteristic fire-opalescence when held to light, particularly visible at the thin edges of the tail, beak, and comb. This small-scale version is a classic example of mid-20th-century American milk glass. No manufacturer marks are present on the piece.
