Description
A miniature covered dish in the form of a hen on a nest, manufactured by Hazel Atlas. The piece is constructed from golden amber pressed glass. The lid is molded into the shape of a seated hen with detailed feathering on the body and wings, featuring a prominent comb and beak. The oval base features a basketweave or cross-hatched pattern around the exterior. This small-scale form is often referred to as an individual salt cellar or a trinket dish. There are no visible maker marks or signatures on the interior or exterior of the lid or base.
