Description
This is a two-piece pressed glass covered dish produced by maybe LG Wright or Indiana glass Company, I dont know commonly referred to as a Hen on a Nest The set is composed of a lid and a base made of translucent amber glass. The lid is molded in the form of a brooding hen featuring detailed feathering on the body and head, a defined comb, and a distinctive split-tail design consisting of two upright fan-shaped feathers. The base is an oval dish decorated with an embossed basketweave pattern on the exterior and interior surfaces. The rim of the base is finished with a decorative border of interlocking open loops, often called a lacy edge. No maker marks or signatures are present on the glass.
