Description
A vintage two-piece pressed glass covered dish manufactured by the Imperial Glass Company of Bellaire, Ohio. The item consists of a lid in the form of a nesting hen and a base shaped like a woven basket, both crafted in deep cobalt blue glass. The hen lid features detailed molding, including individual feathers, a prominent comb, wattles, and eyes. The base displays a textured basket-weave pattern on the sides and bottom, finished with a ruffled or wavy rim. The center of the interior base bears a raised hallmark featuring a capital letter I superimposed over a capital G with a small lowercase o positioned below, identifying it as a product of the Imperial Glass Company from approximately 1951 or later.
