Lot 157:
Rustic Metal Head Striking Tool with Fiber-Bound Wooden Handle
Not sold
Description
This heavy-duty striking tool features a large, oblong metal head, appearing to be forged or cast iron, exhibiting significant surface rust, pitting, and wear. The dark, patinated wooden handle is roughly shaped, showing natural variations, and is reinforced in several sections by loose, frayed natural fiber binding, which also secures the handle to the head. No discernible manufacturer’s marks or text are visible on the item. The overall construction and binding style bear a resemblance to certain indigenous or early industrial tools.
Head length: 6 inches
