Description
A vintage Bromwell’s 5 Cup Measuring Flour Sifter, dating to the mid-20th century. This utilitarian kitchen item is constructed from tarnished aluminum or tin, featuring a cylindrical body with a rolled rim and a crank handle fitted with a black plastic knob. The exterior is embossed with the manufacturer’s name “BROMWELL’S” and descriptor “MEASURING-SIFTER, ” alongside graduated capacity markings for “FIVE CUPS, ” “FOUR CUPS, ” “THREE CUPS, ” and “TWO CUPS.” A faint numerical marking, possibly “1101,” is visible near the top rim. Internally, a wire mesh sifting mechanism is present, operated by the external crank.
