Description
A group of ten United States Wartime Jefferson Nickels, dating from 1942 to 1945. These coins feature a left-facing profile of Thomas Jefferson on the obverse, inscribed with “LIBERTY, ” the date, and “IN GOD WE TRUST.” The reverse depicts Monticello, flanked by “E PLURIBUS UNUM, ” “MONTICELLO, ” “FIVE CENTS, ” and “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.” Prominent “S” (San Francisco) or “P” (Philadelphia) mint marks are visible above Monticello, distinguishing their wartime 35% silver alloy.
