Description
A pair of mid-20th century commemorative collector plates made of white glazed ceramic. The first plate features transfer-printed color portraits of John F. Kennedy, President, and Robert F. Kennedy, Senator, bordered by a double gold-tone rim. The reverse side carries a warning sticker stating "FOR DECORATIVE USE ONLY…NOT TO BE USED FOR FOOD. MADE IN JAPAN." The second plate is a Bicentennial commemorative piece dated "1776–1976," centered on a depiction of the Great Seal of the United States, surrounded by a decorative green border. The rim is inscribed with the text "THE GREAT SEAL OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA." Both plates are characteristic of mid-to-late 20th-century manufacture.
