Lot 106:
Description
A single, large polychrome ceramic floor vase executed in an East Asian export style. The vase features a wide baluster body rising to a flared trumpet neck. The decoration is applied using vibrant enamel paints, predominantly red, green, blue, and yellow, with extensive gilt accents throughout. The central body features large panels depicting groups of figures in traditional dress within a stylized landscape setting, complete with mountains, water, and traditional architecture. These scenic sections are framed by densely decorated borders of complex geometric patterns and stylized floral motifs, including peonies, covering the shoulder, neck, and base. The interior and foot are coated in a thick, matte white glaze, which displays a centralized indentation. No manufacturer or reign marks are discernible on the foot.
Height: 24 inches
