Lot 135:
Description
A pair of adjustable clamp-on roller skates attributed to the Union Hardware Company, based on consistent market identification. The skates are constructed from plated metal frames with four solid composite or heavily rusted metal wheels per skate. The adjustable design is typical of early to mid-20th-century sidewalk skates. Impressed markings are visible on the top plate of one skate, including an obscured shield or crest logo, and legible text reading “WASHINGTON” and “MADE IN U.S.A.” The underside of one skate bears a blue sticker marked “55.”
