Description
A vintage shortwave radio receiver, identified through consensus as the National Model SW-54. The unit is housed in a gray speckled or hammered metal cabinet, characteristic of mid-20th-century communication equipment. The front panel features a large horizontal tuning dial marked with frequency ranges including Bands A, B, C, and D, a smaller signal indicator dial, and controls including three toggle switches labeled RECEIVE STAND BY, AM, and SPEAKER PHONES. The front panel also includes two control knobs, one marked MAIN TUNING. The unit displays the National logo featuring a red diamond NC emblem. The side of the cabinet features a circular perforated speaker grille. The interior view reveals a reddish-brown fiberboard chassis base and five visible vacuum tubes.
