Lot 152:
Description
A vintage hand-appliquéd quilt constructed from cotton and/or cotton blend textiles. Best way I could lay out without getting it dirty. I would say its about a full size. The design features a grid of white squares, each containing a multicolored floral motif resembling pansies. The flowers are executed in various colors including bright yellow, brown, blue, red, and green, attached using visible hand-stitching, notably the blanket stitch around the perimeter of the petals. The grid squares are separated by pieced sashing composed of alternating light pink and thin light blue stripes. The textile exhibits evidence of hand quilting and piecing throughout its construction. A small, square piece of blue tape with the handwritten number 20 is visible on one of the white squares near the left edge.
