Description
A single, hand-carved wooden ceremonial mask in the African tribal style, featuring an elongated face painted dark slate gray/blue. The mask exhibits pronounced, heavy-lidded eyes painted white, detailed facial markings suggesting whiskers or scars, and a bright blue scalloped border surrounding the face. Extending vertically above the head is a substantial, semi-circular crest or headdress element painted bright red. The interior of the mask cavity shows heavy tooling marks and contains a small remnant of blue fabric or paper adhered to the wood. Markings include a handwritten number 206 on a yellow sticker adhered to the top crest.
