Description
A vintage utilitarian appliance manufactured by Dazey Churn & Mfg Co, St. Louis, MO, likely a mechanical churn or utility washing machine. The apparatus features a single, tall, rectangular metal basin finished in blue paint, mounted on a four-legged freestanding cast metal stand. The basin is topped with a plain wooden lid. The operational mechanism, constructed of cast metal, is mounted centrally above the tub and includes a flywheel/pulley assembly. A wooden dasher or paddle is visible inside the basin. A metal spigot is present near the bottom of the basin for drainage. Impressed markings on the cast metal mechanism include DAZEY CHURN & MFG CO ST LOUIS MO, MADE IN AMERICA, M650B, M199R, and 325 RPM.
