Description
A single large decorative floor vase styled as an imitation of an Ancient Greek krater or amphora, mounted on a substantial integrated pedestal base. The vessel is constructed from a composite material or heavy ceramic imitation. The form features a tall neck, wide mouth, and two loop handles. The body is decorated in a style mimicking the Black-Figure and Red-Figure techniques on a white ground, utilizing black, white, and terracotta red paint. The central register depicts scenes of armed hoplite warriors and figures performing actions, including one figure adjusting footwear next to a Doric column, interspersed with stylized meander and geometric bands. The interior of the mouth bears a handwritten inventory marking "406" on green tape.
