A single large contemporary carved wooden statue depicting a bearded, hooded figure, consistent with a monk, hermit, or similar religious type. The sculpture is executed in a rustic or folk art style, featuring deeply textured carving used to render the long robes, beard, and drapery folds. The piece is finished with a high-gloss varnish that emphasizes the contrasting dark reddish-brown and lighter golden-brown tones of the wood grain. The figure holds a staff or shepherd’s crook in its left hand. A substantial sack or pouch is carved hanging on its right side, which bears the incised initials "RK." An auxiliary inventory tag reading "206" is visible near the top of the head.
