Description
A single repurposed antique or vintage slate writing board. The object features a dark gray/black slate surface enclosed by a simple, rounded light brown wooden frame secured by visible metal fasteners. One side has been modified to feature a folk art style oil painting depicting a monochromatic winter landscape, including a stream or frozen river, executed directly onto the slate surface. This side has also been fitted with five small, black metal hooks affixed to the bottom wooden rail, suggesting use as a rack or organizer. The reverse side retains its original function as a slate writing surface. Visible markings on the slate include faint numerical remnants, such as "26."
