A Griswold Manufacturing Co. No. 8 Tite-Top cast iron Dutch oven with a matching self-basting lid and wire bail handle. The piece is constructed of cast iron with a dull silvery exterior finish suggesting previous nickel or chrome plating. The base is embossed with the Griswold cross trademark logo and marked ERIE, PA. U.S.A., 8 TITE-TOP DUTCH OVEN, and CAST IRON. The interior of the lid is embossed with the Griswold cross logo, 8 SELF BASTING, patent number 1,330,202, and the number 1283. The pot includes two integrated side handles and a movable wire bail handle.
