Description
A miniature two-piece covered dish in the form of a hen on a nest. The object is constructed from translucent yellow-orange glass with a frosted satin finish. The lid is molded to represent a hen with textured plumage and a fanned tail. The oval base is decorated with a beaded rim. The interior surfaces of both the lid and the base exhibit a glossy finish. No maker marks, stamps, or inscriptions are present on the item. While the form is characteristic of miniature pressed glass novelties produced by firms such as Boyd Crystal Art Glass or Indiana Glass, the absence of a mark precludes a definitive attribution.
