Description
This vintage industrial hand tool is a jab saw or close-quarter hacksaw blade holder manufactured by Bonney. The tool was produced in Alliance, Ohio, as indicated by the cast markings on the handle. The construction consists of a cast metal handle featuring a ribbed, textured grip and a circular hand guard. One side of the handle is cast with the manufacturer name BONNEY and the location ALLIANCE, OHIO. The opposite side is cast with PAT. PEND., JAB SAW, and U.S.A. A steel support guide is fitted to the handle to hold a standard hacksaw blade, allowing for cutting in tight spaces. The steel guide is stamped with the text TEMPERED STEEL. The item includes a removable tempered steel blade with a blue finish.
