Description
Three US 10-cent coins, officially known as the Winged Liberty Head or Mercury dime series. The group contains one 1939-D specimen struck at the Denver Mint, one 1941 specimen struck at the Philadelphia Mint, and one 1942-S specimen struck at the San Francisco Mint. These coins were designed by Adolph A. Weinman and feature a reeded edge. The obverse depicts Liberty in a winged Phrygian cap with the inscriptions LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and the respective dates. The reverse displays a fasces bound with an olive branch, flanked by the legends UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and ONE DIME, with the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM. Mint marks are located on the reverse, at the bottom left near the rim.
Metal composition: 90% silver, 10% copper.
