Description
This US 1903 Liberty Head nickel is a five-cent piece composed of cupro-nickel. The obverse features a profile of Liberty facing left, wearing a coronet, surrounded by thirteen stars with the date 1903 visible at the bottom. The reverse displays a large Roman numeral V centered within a laurel wreath, with the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA above and CENTS below. No mint mark is present, indicating it was struck at the Philadelphia Mint. The mintage for this year was approximately 28 million pieces.
