Description
This US 1915-S silver half dollar features the Barber design by Charles E. Barber. The obverse displays a right-facing portrait of Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap and laurel wreath, surrounded by thirteen stars and the motto IN GOD WE TRUST above the date 1915. The reverse depicts a heraldic eagle holding an olive branch and arrows, with a scroll in its beak bearing the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM. Thirteen stars are arranged in a cluster above the eagle. A visible S mint mark is located on the reverse below the eagle’s tail feathers, identifying the San Francisco Mint as the place of strike. The coin is composed of 90% silver and 10% copper.
