Description
This lot comprises three hardcover volumes concerning antique powder horns and deer hunting. Featured titles include Drums A’beating, Trumpets Sounding: Artistically Carved Powder Horns in the Provincial Manner 1746-1781 by William H. Guthman and Powder Horns and Their Architecture by Madison Grant. The Guthman volume is bound in teal publisher’s cloth with gilt-stamped illustrations of mounted riders and a black title label on the spine. The Grant volume is a quarto with a pictorial dust jacket illustrating two carved horns. The third volume, Whitetail Wisdom, was published by the North American Hunting Club and features a red textured binding with a gilt eagle-and-bow emblem on the front cover.
