Description
This miniature hen on nest covered dish is produced by Viking Glass. The item is crafted from pressed cobalt blue glass. The lid is molded into the form of a nesting hen with detailed plumage, a prominent comb, and an upright tail. The oval base features a textured basket-weave pattern on the exterior. The exterior center of the base contains an embossed maker mark consisting of a stylized script V within a circular frame, identifying the manufacturer as Viking Glass of New Martinsville, West Virginia. This size is characteristic of an individual salt cellar or miniature trinket dish.
