Description
A vintage covered candy dish or compote crafted from pressed ruby red glass. The item is modeled as a standing rooster positioned atop a flared pedestal base. The piece is constructed in two parts: a base bowl with a pedestal foot and a lid featuring the rooster’s head, neck, and tail. Both sections are highly textured with molded feather patterns throughout the exterior. The glass is a deep, translucent red with a reflective, glossy surface. No maker’s marks, signatures, or factory stamps are visible on the underside of the base or on the interior surfaces.
