Description
A pair of United States 90% silver quarter dollars. Both specimens are the Standing Liberty type, dated 1929 with an S mint mark for San Francisco visible to the left of the date on the obverse. The obverse features the Standing Liberty design with the inscription LIBERTY along the upper rim and IN GOD WE TRUST in the fields. The reverse displays the Type 2 flying eagle design, surrounded by the legends UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and QUARTER DOLLAR, and the Latin motto E PLURIBUS UNUM. One coin has been modified with a regular, grid-like pattern of small rectangular piercings across the entire flan. Both coins feature reeded edges.
